New York -INHD announced it will broadcast up to three games a week and a total of 75 MLB games in high definition in 2004 as a part of its multi-year agreement with Major League Baseball. The INHD schedule will feature a majority of the league's teams, including the 2003 World Series champion Florida Marlins, the New York Yankees, the Boston Red Sox and the Philadelphia Phillies. The 2004 season opener will be the San Diego Padres at home against the San Francisco Giants on Thursday, April 8 at 10 p.m. ET. "This outstanding lineup of Major League Baseball games demonstrates INHD's commitment to the future of the high definition format," said Rob Jacobson, Chief Operating Officer, iN DEMAND. "These games will provide added depth to our lineup and extra incentive for those sports fans who are considering the purchase of an HD television whose prices are now comparable in many cases to a standard televisions." MLB on INHD games will be available in wide-screen, high-resolution format and also will feature Dolby Digital 5.1 audio when available. While the audio is equivalent to most DVD's, the picture quality of the INHD broadcast is superior. MLB on INHD will be available on affiliated cable systems on an out-of-market basis. Viewers must reside outside of the competing teams' territorial broadcast areas to see the MLB on INHD high definition telecasts.
