What more could a fan of spy flicks want? Hot spy chicks in high definition, that’s what! Alias features the beautiful Sydney Bristow (Jennifer Garner), a secret agent who once worked for a now defunct criminal organization, thinking all along that it was a legitimate, secret branch of the CIA. Now working for the real CIA, she gets herself involved in a variety of fascinating adventures every week, for your viewing pleasure.

Because Alias is an ABC program, it is shown in brilliantly reproduced HD. The transfer from film to 720p is excellent, as every scene is as rich in color and detail as film could provide. In addition to its video qualities, Alias also uses Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound, which complements its video quality very well. Admittedly, there doesn’t seem to be much of anything going on in the surround channels, not even subtle ambience, unless it is a scene full of action. Still, I’d never seen Alias before last month, and I’ve since become hooked on the plot, the video quality and the sound. Consider this one a must-see in DTV.
