Software that lets you play DVDs on your computer isn’t new, but InterVideo’s most recent WinDVD software adds an endless array of features. Beyond DVDs, the software includes support for DivX, MPEG 4, DVD-Audio, and even HDTV (but not HD-DVD or Blu-ray, yet), just to name a few. It can decode audio tracks with Dolby and DTS digital processing, including Dolby Pro Logic II (in the platinum edition) and can provide beautiful progressive-scan images thanks to Philips’ Digital Natural Motion. The only format it can’t handle is Super Audio CD. The Gold and Platinum editions are available now for $49.95 and $69.95, respectively.
