The fact that Fujitsu offers 10-bit video processing in its flagship 63- and 55-inch plasma displays (P63XHA30WS, $24,999 and P55XHA30WS,
$11,999) is impressive. The fact that the company offers it in all five of its plasma TV models is amazing. The 63-inch panel is the largest plasma currently available on the market. (LG and Samsung have announced 76- and 80-inch models, respectively, that they hope to release by the end of 2004.)

Like Fujitsu’s 55-inch model and its 50-inch model (P50XHA30WS,
$8,999), the P63 has a panel resolution of 1366 by 768, which makes it perfectly capable of handling high-definition (HD) images. You can connect your HD tuner to any of the company’s five widescreen displays via a Digital Visual Interface (DVI) that includes High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) to ensure that all digital content can be viewed pristinely and without restriction. All five of Fujitsu’s plasmas also include the company’s Advanced Video Movement processor, which supposedly eliminates motion artifacts and flicker, particularly in non-HD content. While these are noteworthy features,
to say the least, it’s impressive that Fujitsu’s 42-inch P42HHA30WS ($6,999), with its HD-ready 1024 by 1024 resolution, and its 42-inch P42VHA30WS ($4,999), with its enhanced-definition 852 by 480 resolution, also include 10-bit processing. Given all of this, Fujitsu’s offerings are among the best values in large-screen flat-panel displays.
