Revolutionary Multi-Room Home Media System
Revolutionary Multi-Room Home Media System by Axonix
by Avonix PR
06/01/2004

June 1st, 2004—Axonix Corporation is shipping MediaMax™, the first “Open Architecture” based home media entertainment system with on-demand multi-room viewing of true DVD quality movies, music, TV shows and Web based Email and content.

MediaMax allows multiple users to simultaneously watch true DVD quality movies in Dolby™ 5.1 Surround Sound. At the same time, other networked users can listen to their favorite music or Internet radio, watch recorded TV shows, email, chat, and surf the Web, show-off family movies or photo albums and even monitor home security cameras from any room in their home. All media is instantly accessible through a hand held wireless remote or wireless keyboard.

Based on an Open Wintel Embedded XP Pro Architecture, MediaMax is the perfect value-added system for Home Integrators since it can be cost effectively installed, supported, expanded and customized using non-proprietary software and hardware. Software interfaces will soon be available that will allow single remote control of both home entertainment and automation systems that centrally control lighting, temperature and security manufactured by companies such as Crestron®, AMX®, HAI®, Philips® and X10®. MediaMax is sold exclusively through Home Integration Partners.

MediaMax installs in minutes on wired or with optional hardware, wireless Ethernet LANs. MediaMax comes complete “Ready-To-Play” with a Server and a set of Set Top Players—requiring no additional hardware, software or costly subscription services. Multiple Servers may be configured to support an unlimited number of rooms and storage capacity.
