Philips expands Connected Planet
vision with award-winning Streamium products

latest in wireless innovations, Philips Electronics has expanded its Connected
Planet™ vision with a product portfolio designed to enrich consumer lifestyles.
Showcased today at the 2005 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Philips’ Streamium™
family of products enable consumers to access and enjoy digital entertainment
directly from the internet and from the PC.

Based
on open technical standards such as Wi-Fi® (802.11b/g) and Universal Plug and
Play (UPnP), Philips’ Connected Planet portfolio includes the award-winning
Philips Streamium product family. Introduced in 2004, Philips Streamium products
enable wireless transmission of digital media content like music, pictures or
videos anywhere in the home In addition these products are designed to
accelerate consumers’ access to the rich digital content and services offered by
broadband internet. Philips Streamium products include complete system
solutions, like a Home Entertainment system, a Wireless Micro Hi-Fi System and a
Flat TV. In addition Philips offered and a range of wireless multimedia link
devices, which can be connected to any existing Home Entertainment product at
home.
Connecting the 2005 FlatTV™
Line
Standard on the 42PF9830A LCD
and 50PF9830A Plasma FlatTVs and part of Philips’ top of the line 2005 FlatTV
sets, the networking technology connects consumers with their favorite audio and
video content from the Internet and home PC. These Connected Planet FlatTVs are able
to display streaming video in various formats and play MP3 music directly from
many Internet content providers.
Beyond
their networking capabilities, the picture quality of the 42PF9830A and
50PF9830A displays have been improved with Pixel Plus™ 2 HD, making HD content
look even better. These sets are also equipped with the latest version of
Ambient Light Technology, Ambilight™ 2, a revolutionary lighting system that
improves perceived picture quality and offers a more immersive viewing
experience.
Available in September 2005, the
new models –42PF9830A and 50PF9830A range in price from $4,999 to $5,999.
