As the video processing wars heat up (see Lumagen, Silicon Optix, and Anchor Bay Technologies), don’t count out the iconic Faroudja brand name. Having recently acquired distribution rights to the brand, Meridian announced that it will continue to produce Faroudja’s FDP-DILA1080HD ($37,995) and the FDP-DILA788 ($24,995) projectors—with 1080p and 788p native resolutions, respectively—along with the DVP1080 processor. Even the statement FDP-DILA QX1 ($295,000) is available by special order. Future products will be branded “Faroudja, by Meridian.”
