CHATSWORTH, Calif.—Miller & Kreisel Sound (M&K), announces a breakthrough
“Single-Source” loudspeaker that produces five channels of surround sound from a
single cabinet.
Unlike speakers that use psychoacoustic trickery to create the
illusion of surround only in a narrow “sweet spot,” the MPS-45 disperses sound
into the room using five separate speaker elements to produce a convincing
surround field over a broad listening area.
The MPS-45 incorporates individual speakers for the left, center,
right, left surround, and right surround channels. The left, center, and right
channel speakers are essentially identical to the acclaimed M&K Xenon
LCR-25, each using a very high-performance 1” fabric-dome Neodymium tweeter and
a high-output 3” polypropylene woofer.
Each channel utilizes M&K’s exclusive
Phase-FocusedTM crossover, which is a element critical to
the speaker’s ability to produce smooth response and even coverage of sound
throughout the listening area. The
front channel speakers have individual acoustically isolated sealed
enclosures.
Each surround channel is reproduced by a high-quality 3.25”
“full-range” driver mounted on the left and right sides of the cabinet,
respectively.
