Runco Launches its Most Powerful Video Processor
By Marketing Matters PR for Runco International, Inc
07/01/2004

UNION CITY, CALIFORNIA—Runco International, the world leader in high-end home theater video display technology, released its all-new, Next Generation ViVix II™ DHD™ Series Digital Video Controller as part of four different projection systems. Packaged with the Reflection™ VX-1000ci, VX-4000ci, VX-5000ci and Video Xtreme™ VX-2c model projectors and utilizing Runco’s exclusive ViVix II digital processing, the DHD Digital Controller enhances all standard and HDTV source material for maximum clarity and precision. Offering broad analog and digital connectivity plus field-upgradeable software, the DHD Digital Controller ensures compatibility with all the latest signal sources.

“Runco’s DHD Digital Controller is the ideal partner for our Reflection Series projectors, as well as the VX-2c—the latest addition to our Video Xtreme family,” said Bob Hana, president of Runco. “By combining our most advanced signal processing technology with the exceptional image reproduction capabilities of our projectors, we’re giving the custom installation community the means to guarantee world-class movie realism using any source in any home theater environment.”

Runco has incorporated its latest ViVix digital video processing technology—ViVix II—into the DHD Digital Controller’s design. This technology enhances digital and analog signals while outputting a pure digital signal in addition to analog. It optimizes signal reproduction for Anamorphic, Letterbox and 4:3 aspect ratios, and its VirtualWide™ feature converts 4:3 images for maximum performance on 16:9 screens without losing any image integrity. The DHD Digital Controller also features Orthogonal Line Correction to adjust for unwanted time-elapsed field artifacts as well as 3:2 and 2:2 pull-down for maximum quality playback from film-originated programming.
