| Like most Americans, Barry Willis watched television before he was old enough to walk. The experience made a permanent impression. A longtime contributing editor for Stereophile and Guide to Home Theater magazines, Barry has also written for Home Theater Interiors, Food Arts, LIMN, and the Pacific Sun. He occasionally installs electronic art for museums, galleries and contemporary collectors.
His primary home entertainment system includes a Runco DTV-852 CRT projector with Vu-Tech motorized screen, Comcast HD cable, a modified Denon DVD-2900 universal disc player, Parasound Halo C2 surround processor and A51 five-channel amp, custom-built Montana EPS loudspeakers, Silverline Audio center channel and surrounds, James 10S subwoofer, Nordost SPM and Quatro-fil cabling, Kimber Kable Palladian power cords, and AudioPrism and SineLock power line filters.
Barry admits without a hint of apology that he hasn't ventured into a commercial movie theater in well over a year. He lives in Marin County, California, with actress and contemporary art maven Robyn Wiley. |
